The practical answer
Small is a useful starting point when Mini feels too restricted for a daily wallet and pouch. Classic Medium offers more width and depth, but also a larger body across you. The angular panels and zip opening make access worth checking separately from exterior size.

Mini to Small is a meaningful step
In the cited series, Small adds 2.3 inches of width and 1 inch of depth over Mini. That changes the packing options more than a simple photograph may suggest. Keep the distinction between reference exterior size and usable space through the zip.
Look at the zip and folded panels
The geometric body can make the opening less obvious in a closed photograph. Compare an open view and the position of the zipper, then test the dimensions of any rigid case against that route into the bag. A soft item can pack differently from a box-shaped object of similar size.
Choose the carry configuration you will actually use
A top handle is useful for short hand carries, while the long strap determines shoulder and crossbody positioning. Rebag's Small example lists an adjustable strap drop; the selected supplier version needs its own range. Ask whether the long strap is detachable and included.

Why does the catalogue say 30 cm while the reference converts to about 29 cm?
